While attending Officers' Christian Fellowship bible studies at the U.S. Air Force Academy and after his graduation in 1992, he grew immensely in his knowledge of the eternal truths of the Bible, God's sovereignty, and His saving grace through Jesus Christ alone. In 1993, he married Joelyn Taylor, his high school friend, Academy classmate and sister in Christ. He's served in the Air Force for over 24 years as an aeronautical engineer. The family has lived in New Mexico, Texas, Virginia, the United Kingdom, Colorado, and now Utah. He and Joelyn have four children -- Faith (18), Christina (16), Jonathan (14), and Seth (12). They've been members of Grace Church since 2013.

  • Nick Winder

    Ruling Elder

Nick moved to Utah with his family when he was nine years old. After being raised by Mormon parents, he left the LDS faith during his freshman year in college. After graduating from University, and solely by the grace of God, Nick met his wonderful wife, Taylee, and her Christian family. Through many difficult conversations and after having read the gospels for the first time, his life was radically changed by the indwelling of the Spirit of God. God opened Nick's heart to the gospel and lavished him with grace and mercy, revealing the mystery of Jesus Christ and His gospel. Nick and Taylee have been attending Grace Church since August 2014. They have two beautiful children, Afton (5) and Samuel (2), and a 3rd (Jacob) on the way. Nick and Taylee are excited to be a part of what God is doing in Utah through Grace Church.

  • Loren Asbury

Loren first sensed God’s call on his life when he was a teenager at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Boone, North Carolina. In his early twenties he joined the Air Force, traveled the world as an F-16 Crew Chief and finally settled down in Layton, Utah in 2000. This is where he met his wonderful wife Lea Ann and began raising their three children: Caitlin, Tyler, and Luke. In the summer of 2017 Loren and his family were blessed to join Grace Church where he has enjoyed growing in Christ, getting to know his church family, and playing on the Grace men’s softball team. “I thank God and his Son Jesus Christ as the reason I am where I am now, in the fullness of His grace. Praise be to the Lord!”

  • Taylee Winder

    Worship Coordinator

Born and raised in Utah, I have been freed from bondage and redeemed by the blood of the Son. I am simply an ordinary woman serving an extraordinary God who has graciously gifted me as a wife, mother and friend, with a voice. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve Grace Church by way of praise and worship. The Lord has been at great work for a great while in how He would equip me for this very season, of which I am deeply grateful and blessed. May He continue to renew my mind and change my heart while inclined to desperately know Him more fully. I pray that your time of worship at Grace Church would be set-apart, lavished in the love and grace of Christ Jesus.
