Leadership & Staff

Austin Clement

Associate Pastor

Austin joined Grace Church as an assistant pastor in the fall of 2022 and was voted to become Grace's associate pastor in the fall of 2023. Prior to Grace Church, Austin was an assistant pastor at Ascension PCA in Edmonds, Washington, the same town in which he grew up and spent most of his adult life before coming to Utah. Austin has a BA from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and an M.Div. from Reformed Theological Seminary in Orlando. He and his wife, Ellen, married in 2016 and are blessed with three wonderful children—August, Shepherd, and Rose.

Austin’s passion is to see people discover the abundant goodness of God that pervades all things. He loves skiing, mountain biking, coffee, researching new things, spending time with people, and wrestling and tickling his boys until they can’t breathe.

Austin and Ellen are thrilled to be in Northern Utah and are grateful to God for the opportunity to serve him and his people at Grace Church.

Brett Kleeberger

Elder

Brett has been worshipping at Grace since 2003 and has marveled at God's provision for His church in that time.  He was ordained as an elder in 2016 and is privileged to be back on the Session following a sabbatical in 2023.

Brett and his wonderful wife, Hannah, enjoy exploring God's creation with their three children, whether it be on foot or mountain bike.

Kimball Owens

Elder

Kimball and his family began attending Grace Church in 2022. He was ordained as an elder in 2023.  Kimball and his lovely wife, Heidi, have one son left at home, two adult daughters, and a son-in-law.

In his spare time, Kimball enjoys spending time with his family,  hunting, running, reading and discussing theology and history.

Rick Proffer

Elder

Rick and his wife, Barbie, have been a part of Grace Church since 1997 when the first Bible study began in our pastor’s living room.  Over the years he has witnessed the steadfast, sustaining love of a
merciful Father, who has lavishly poured his grace out upon his children, time and time again.

Wondering from an early age “what this life is all about”, Rick’s heart was captured by the God who sees–He who is there and is not silent–in his early teens.  Trusting that “He who began a good work in
you will be faithful to complete it”, Rick was first ordained as a ruling elder at Grace in 2000.

After taking an extended absence to focus on the demands of being an elementary principal, Rick returned as an active member of Grace
leadership following his recent retirement and continues to serve as a ruling elder on the church session.

Rick enjoys a good story (occasionally embellishing it in the telling), is passionate about his adopted hometown of Ogden, and loves to travel with his wife and son, exploring this amazing world our Lord has created.

Greg Heyward

Deacon

Greg and his family joined Grace Church in 2016 after moving west from the Northern Virginia area.  He was originally ordained as a deacon at Grace Church in 2017, and has returned to the diaconate in 2023.

Greg married his "missing rib" Leah in 2014, and they have three children together (Noah, Amariah, and Jonah).  In his free time he enjoys spending time with his loved ones and doing woodworking projects.

Greg is grateful to serve the members of Grace church and those who are in need, with the chief end of glorifying our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Alex Rubottom

Office Administrator / Music Coordinator

Alex was born and raised in Florida. She and her husband, Timmy, moved to Utah in 2019 and have been attending Grace Church ever since. Alex considers it a privilege not only to make a joyful noise to the Creator of Heaven and Earth, but to also watch His children do the same and delight in Him.

Alex enjoys spending time with her husband and sons outdoors, on the front porch, or with some good books.
